At Global Door we know all about composite doors green credentials – these days we are all aware of the importance of ‘being green’ – and with our composite doors we are always striving to make sure our doors are as environmentally friendly as possible.
What do we mean when we talk about green composite doors? Surely a door has nothing to do with protecting the environment? Well, think again. There is a lot of work that goes into the manufacture, production and transportation of your shiny new composite door before our highly skilled installation team come and fit it for you. As a company, we have to ensure that our composite doors are green – regardless of the colour!
For one thing we only use lead free materials in our door frames, and all of our deliveries are through our own delivery fleet. Steps such as these help us to reduce our carbon footprint so that composite doors green make the smallest impact possible on the planet.
We also have terrific U values on our composite doors, green credentials that many other composite door suppliers will seethe over. In fact, you could say they will go green with envy! (Editor – please remove this awful pun).
Achieving a low U value on a composite door is of critical importance to the planet, as this will result in lower energy bills for customers and as such a lower usage of energy resources. It has been proven that one of the key areas for heat loss within a home is the entrance door, so therefore by ensuring your new composite door is green in the sense of a good U value, the less heat you will let out of the home. Remember, when considering a new composite door, the lower the U value the better.
Another way our composite doors are green is the thermal upgrade we can offer for your glass. We offer a huge range of attractive glass designs, and the vast majority can be upgraded to ‘thermal’ – this means that the glass unit is injected with an argon gas that helps to keep the heat inside the home and the cold air on the outside. We also use a warm edge spacer bar in the duble glazed unit to further enhance the composite doors green properties.
